News Back To News 03.01.05 BEST IRISH ALBUM AWARD & FREE DOWNLOADS & COMPETITION Welcome to the first TMIAT news feature of 2005! Hopefully you have all had far too much of whatever it was that you were having too much of, and a suitable recovery and recuperation is in progress. Only another 355 days to go! Its been a good start to 2005 for Jape already. His album (and the first release on TMIAT), 'The Monkeys In The Zoo Have More Fun Than Me' has been picked as the Best Irish Album Of 2004 by the RTE Guide. Full details can be found in the current edition of the RTE Guide. The first Sunday Tribune of 2005 also payed homage to Jape & The Redneck Manifesto. Neil Dunphy of The Tribune remarked "....there are signs of a modern urban Irish music scene that could explode in all sorts of exciting directions. Think of artists such as Richie Egan who had a hugely successful 2004 with both his JAPE project and The Redneck Manifesto, which enjoyed critical as well as popular acclaim. The stomping art-metal of The Rednecks combines well with JAPE'S folktronica and you sense something genuinely huge could come out of these acts". Our first ever Internet Only release went off as planned and was released at 2:00pm Christmas Day. Thanks to Beautiful Unit & Schroedersound for contributing two great tracks. It is now available to download in 3 different formats from our online store. We have not heard to the contrary, so we are claiming to be the first label to commercially release a recording on Christmas Day! We have added a new biog page for Beautiful Unit on the Artists section to give you more of an idea of the background to the music. There are also 3 new free MP3 downloads added to the sounds section of the gallery page. Two tracks by 'The Idiots' ( Brian Mooney from Beautiful Unit's previous Band) & One by 'Amusement' (One of Jimmy Eadies projects of old). We will be adding a new Schroedersound biog page during the week. The details of the Asylum Studios competition is now up on the Gallery. There is free recording time up for grabs.
